19-year-old woman accused of murdering elderly Dallas man

DALLAS – Police charged a woman with capital murder for the death of an elderly man in Dallas last Friday.
Officers responded to a shooting in the 300 block of South Marsailis Avenue in South Dallas around 3 p.m. on Nov. 8. 
When they arrived, they found 66-year-old Ahmad Alkhalaf with a gunshot wound.
Alkhalaf was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
On Wednesday, Dallas police announced that 19-year-old Amaya Medrano had been charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting.

Police say the Seagoville man bypassed security at Horn High School after a student allowed him in through a locked exterior door.
They did not release any details about a motive or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Court records show Medrano was serving a five-year probation sentence for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after pleading guilty to stabbing someone in 2023.
She is currently in custody at the Dallas County Jail.
