Crinoid-Pro Prep Indiana Bizarre Pathological Deformed Blastoid-Trilobite Fossil

Offered here is one of the strangest blastoids that I’ve ever found or seen. This Pentremites sp. blastoid is from the Big Clifty Formation from Crawford County, Indiana, Mississippian in age. The blastoid measures 1/2” long and only has 4 ambulacral areas with strange deformation as well. Matrix measures 1 1/8” x 1”. As you can see from the pictures, the blastoid has great detail and the light calcite contrasts perfectly against the gray limestone matrix. The deformed area is easily seen as well as the fused ambulacral area. Certainly one of the strangest blastoids I’ve ever found. This beautiful piece was found about 30 years ago when the highway department was building I-64 between Cincinnati and Evansville.
